I am doing IF, usually at least 12 hours per day and up to 18 hours per day to regulate my blood glucose. It is a day by day thing, but overall, I meet my goals! SP has truly saved my life! As of 2017, I have maintained 100+pounds weight loss! Love all you ladies and gents for your support on this journey! ******* As of January 2016, I am focusing on my blood glucose and movement. In 2015, I had to add rapid acting insulin which, as it is a fat promoting hormone, caused me to gain 15 pounds. I took off that 15 pounds in 2015, and am still struggling with the insulin and my weight. I was successful in my goals for 2015-moving at least 10 minutes per day, and honoring and listening to my body. I will continue with those goals. **** Update: As of January 2015, my new goal is movement...at least 10 minutes each day, and more if possible. I aim to do what I can each day. I will honor and listen to my body. A trickle down effect occurs once one starts healthy habits. Things will get better. Persevere! **** Update: As of July 2014, I finally got to 260! New goal 240. **** Update: As of April 2013, I have met a few goals. I got rid of "stuff"--a lot of stuff. I am proud of that. I went from 269 to 280, and I am proud that I cut off the weight gain at that point. I am now 267. I am proud that I've gone through two major changes to my way of eating. I went gluten free, and began my happy descent from the 300s. I have made lots of good changes, even through severe illness, and kept off 75 pounds. That is a win-win scenario for me. Now, I commit to do my physical therapy maintenance each week, walk in the park each week, and carefully count my carbs in my carb and blood glucose tracker. ******************* Update: As of July 2013, I finally hit the 260s--269 to be exact, from a starting weight of 345. I cannot wait to get to 260. Then my next goal will be 240. My words for today, "you can take a rest from time to time, but never ever give up!" There is always room for improvement. ******************* Update: The end of March 2013 has me maintaining my weight loss at 280.2. I've been ill lately and unable to exercise much. I believe once I start exercising again, I will start to lose again. I am maintaining my gluten free lifestyle about 95 percent of the time. I guess one cannot be "perfect" with anything. A little imperfection is what make life beautiful, anyway. Here's to a great year! We WILL meet our goals! ***************************** As 2013 begins, I weigh 283.8 pounds. My goal for this year will be to weigh 260 pounds. I will give myself a year to meet that goal, as I am incorporating permanent changes into my life, little by little (baby steps) so that I will be a "whole" person on the other side of obtaining all my planned goals. This "whole" person will enjoy having a life again and enjoy the increased physical activity. I've made great progress under adverse conditions (knee injury and subsequent knee rehab). My good pal said that I was the only person she knew who lost weight after being injured and having mobility issues; hence, it can be done! I am dedicated to making changes for the better, and I WILL be the best I can be! My other goals consist of: 1. getting rid of unnecessary "stuff," 2. volunteering for a good cause, 3. starting my own jewelry business, 4. pursuing my art, and 5. learning to work a pottery wheel. I love textures and working with my hands. I also look forward to playing the violin and the piano again. Goodbye analytical career and hello artistic career. In other words, a former career left brainer attempts to be a right brainer.

I am counting carbs and calories, and eating gluten free foods with plenty of fresh veggies. I joined on April Fool's Day 2011, and been baby stepping it ever since. I will increase my physical activity and learn how to be spontaneous again---to live life to the fullest.

How does a career left brain lifer become a right brainer again?

I will walk in nature first, and look at the trees--such inspiration!

    We all catch a case of the blahs now and again. Try as we might, they nab each of us on occasion. And when they do, we get a little down on ourselves, maybe even more than a little. We feel kind of, well... blah. Then we get over it and get on down the road.

    But there are times when the blahs just seem to hang around. Regardless of how much you want them to go away, they just won't. Instead of leaving you alone, they keep dragging you down and down and down. Even though you want to do better; want to feel better, the blahs keep sticking around.

    When the blahs strike, you've got to strike back - and strike boldly and swiftly. Don't just sit there and allow them to gain a foothold in your life, show some fire. In case you're wondering what to do, you need to get fired up - and fire back with everything you've got.

    When the blahs come calling, smack them right in the face. Don't give them an inch. And keep pounding away until they run away and hide. By staying positive, upbeat and optimistic, you can drown out their annoying sound. And allow all of the wonderful, beautiful, fabulous things in life to come shining through.

    You've got a lot of things going for you if you'll just give them a chance. You've got goals, dreams and aspirations that can power you to greatness. You've got talents and gifts that can set the world on fire. And best of all, you've got God on your side. Does it make any sense to spend one minute mired in the blahs? No it doesn't.

    Set your heart on fire with purpose and passion - and you'll get the life you deserve.

    I wanted to stop by your page and say good morning to you. I have not been very active the past few days due to being sick. It took all I had in me just to come on and log my daily nutritional intake. I soooo do not like being sick. Now, DH is in bed sick. I think he caught it from me.

    Anyway, I wanted you to know that even though I was not being as active and posting daily, I was thinking of you. I missed having that daily connection with you. So instead of posting my usual "daily motivational messages", I wanted to see how you have been and how things are going on your end.

    Hope your week started out good and that you are having a most wonderful, blessed-filled day.

    How's it going today? Is life treating you well? Are you making the most of the day at hand, fully immersing yourself in all of the fun, happiness and excitement life offers up? And are you living the life you love and loving the life you live? I certainly hope so, because you deserve to have the time of your life each and every day.

    Change is the spice of life. Without change, life quickly becomes boring, tedious and run of the mill. Without mixing in some new ideas and different approaches, making each day an exciting roller coaster ride, every day becomes just another snoozer in an endless string of ho-hum days. *Yawn*

    So why not add a little spice to the mix?

    Your once hum-drum days become more vibrant, more meaningful; filled with more excitement and more passion than ever before. And if that's not enough, here's the icing on the cake: you begin living the life you love and even more importantly, you start loving the life you live.

    Let's face it; the only way to reach our destination is to forcefully move in its direction. And move with purpose. Move with passion. Move with a sense of urgency.

    Move like our life depends on it.

    Got a goal you need to accomplish? An objective you wish to attain? A destination you've dreamed of reaching? Of course you do; everyone does.

    It's only natural to have places you want to go; things you need to achieve; a whole potpourri of wishes and dreams you'd like to fulfill. But all of the wanting and needing and wishing in the world won't get you there. You have to make it happen.

    When it comes to reaching your chosen destination in life, you must:

    Decide where you want to go.
    Have the courage to take the wheel.
    Take the steps you need to take.
    Then steer your life in the right direction.


    Ready to make your dreams come alive? Then maybe you need to do something different, something more exciting; something that moves you in the direction of your dreams. Maybe it's something you have tried before, but just needs a little tweaking. Or perhaps it is something altogether new.

    Whatever it is, whatever it takes, just do it. And do it now. If you need to alter your path, do so. If you need to change course, change it. Do whatever you need to do to get yourself moving in the right direction.
