I'm here again. I'm participating in Biggest Loser for my subdivision and for my work. So, I have motivation at home and at work. I went through some marital issues starting in Oct 2010 and I gained back the weight that I had lost. I am an emotional eater. I know it and I'm dealing with it. I started exercising again...which really makes me feel better. I have lost 9 pounds since Jan 8th and I am down to 179 and have lost 2% body fat as of today, Feb 12th. I'm just going to keep plugging away at it until I meet my goal.

Today, I am officially starting over. I am frustrated because in March I weighed in at 160. Today I am 178. I know part of it is because of the anti-depressants that I started taking. I'm going off of them. The other part is because I haven't been exercising or eating like I should. But that stops today. I have to take care of myself.

So, I have four kids, two of which that still live at home. My 16 year old daughter Tori, and my 12 year old son Ryan. My husband works at night and I work during the day. Most of the time I feel like I'm a single mom. But I guess we do what we have to do. My husband's 76 year old father is moving in with us this week and my 23 year old cousin is also staying at our house until he can get setteled and get a job. He just moved from Vermont to have a fresh new start. Life is never dull at my house that's for sure.

Sparkpeople really helped me before and I plan to get back on track so that I can deal with everything and be the best mom and wife that I can be.

I have decided to make 2009 totally my year. Ha!! I joined my subdivisions Biggest Loser contest which started Jan 2. It ended on May 23. The winner was determined by % of weight lost. Here are my starting and ending stats:

Start: Jan 2 2009
Weight: 216
Body Fat % 43.8
Neck: 15
Chest: 46
Waist: 43
Hips: 52
Thighs: 30
Calves: 15.5
Biceps: 13
Forearm: 10

End: May 23 2009
Weight: 189
Body Fat% 39.6
Neck: 13.25
Chest: 39.75
Waist: 32.25
Hips: 45
Thighs: 21
Calves: 14.5
Biceps: 11.5
Forearm: 9.25

It turns out that I was the winner in which I received $400 cash and 6 months free membership to American Body Works. I'm very proud that I won this year not because I so happened to lose the most, but because I know I gave it my all and did my best. Now, the hard part.

To continue what I have done so far. So I've decided that I am starting the next phase of my program. I want to lose an additional 30 pounds by the end of the year - which is only about 5 pounds a month. I think that is very doable. I will use my American Body Works membership and exercise at the gym at least 3 days a week. I will go twice a week to kickboxing at my church. And I will walk or work out at Curves on my lunch hour M-F. Sunday's will be my off day. I am eating high protien, low carb meals (cause I know this works for my body type) and I will allow myself to relax the diet a little one week a month and on Sundays. I will drink a lot of water each day - which helps me feel full and hydrated for my workouts. I'm excited and ready to keep going full steam ahead. My journey continues.....

Today I was weighed and measured at Curves. Here are my stats:

Bust: 37.25
Waist: 30.5
Abdomen: 37
Hips: 42.5
Thighs: 24 at the thumbs
Arms: 11.5
Weight: 175
Body Fat%: 36.6 (7.20%loss)
BMI: 28.3
Total Weight Lost: 42 pounds
Total Inches Lost: 60.5 inches

I'm excited and I'm going to buy me a new bathing suit and some new clothes this weekend. Looking forward to going to the beach next week. I feel great and have a lot of energy these days. I will posts new pics when I get back.

New Measurements:
Bust: 37.25
Waist: 29.50
Abdomen: 36.75
Hips: 41.25
Thighs: 43.50
Arms: 11.00
Weight: 166
Body Fat: 36.00%
BMI: 26.79
Pounds Lost to date: 51lbs

I've noticed that it's getting harder and harder to lose the weight because I'm getting closer and closer to my goal. My ideal body weight should be 130 lbs so that means that I have 36lbs to go. However, the goal I set for 2009 was to lose 60 and I only have 9 more pounds for this year. I'm sure I can do that plus some. So we will see. I feel like I should step it up a bit, so I'm going to add an extra day or two of exercise.

I'm not sure what to write here, but I guess I'm supposed to tell a little about my issue with my weight. I am overweight but haven't always been. I was thin growing up and all the way through until after I had my fourth child. I had my kids young (three girls & 1 boy) with my last one being born at the age of 25. I always thought I could eat what I wanted. However, about a year or two after my fourth child was born, I fell into a deep depression. I went on meds and then I gained a bunch of weight. After I went off meds, I still continued to gain weight. Because it seemed like everytime I was upset - I would eat. I still eat when I am upset but now also when I'm bored or whatever. I have tried dieting but I always only last about two weeks. I had tried to just exercise and not worry too much about what I ate and it helped some, but I only lost about 26 pounds in about 8 or 9 months. Since then I have gained that plus another 26 pounds. I am so frustrated with myself to have allowed me to get this way. I know that it will take some time to lose the weight that I want to lose, however I am already seeing results with the way that feel and look.

My goal is to be healthy and at a healthy weight for my family and for myself. I need help. I need to get motivated. 2008 will be the year.

American Body Works came to our subdivision today to help us with our Biggest Loser contest that we are doing. They took everyone's stats and I've decided to post mine so that I can see the progress I make when they take our stats again. The weight was off somehow, because my scale sure doesn't say what there's said and since I'm weighing on mine every week since I started SparkPeople, I will stay with my scale.

wt. 206
fat % 42
BMI 33.3
neck 13 in.
thigh 25
chest 40
calve 15 1/2
waist 37 1/2
bicep 12
hip 49 3/4
forearm 9
American Body Works came and took our measurments and weight again today. I was a little unsure if I even wanted to weigh myself because the last couple of weeks, I haven't been doing good and I even gained a couple. I've been frustrated and burned out. But I decided to do it and now I'm motivated again. Here are my measurments.... (of course my scale at home is still off)

wt. 198
fat % 40
BMI 32
neck 13 in.
thigh 25
chest 41
calve 16
waist 37
bicep 12
hip 48
forearm 9

Well today was the last weigh in for our subdivision's Biggest Loser Contest. Unfortunatly, I didn't win. I was in second, but second wasn't good enough to win the money. Boy, I really needed that money too. Oh well. I did learn to become healthier through Sparkpeople and the contest was just an additional motivator for me. We plan to do it again, in the subdivision, after the first of the year. Although, I hope I won't need to join in again since I am gonna continue the successes that I have celebrated so far. Here are my end measurements. And again my scale says different than theirs and so my ticker reflect's that.

wt. 189
fat % 39.2
BMI 30.5
neck 13 in.
thigh 25
chest 40
calve 15.5
waist 37
bicep 13
hip 44
forearm 9

Hi Barbara. Thanks for the warm welcome to the Marietta Spark club. I am excited to be on this journey with like minded individuals. Maybe I will see you on top of Kennesaw mountain one of these days. It has been my goal to hike it for some time. I've done the Stone Mountain hike many times but never the one in my own back yard. You look great by the way, keep up the hard work. Cheers. emoticon
