Introduction Text Here I am writing a new chapter to describe myself. No sad, fat girl, whining about how life threw her curveballs and she and cake became inseparable. My time on sparkpeople is devoted not to how I arrived, but rather the journey that I am now undertaking. My body is screaming for me to unleash her on the world, so here I am. I am a single, 39 year old metalhead who happens to be pagan. All religions have their place, so I would ask that my beliefs be accorded the same respect. Positivity is a major aspect of what I am trying to achieve here. I am Pollyanna, without being Pollyannish. Seeing what my body can become is my biggest inspiration. The feeling of accomplishment is one of my goals. Oh..and I also want to have a photo shoot of myself posing as a pin-up girl. ;)

I am conquering my food issues and losing weight. This has been an ongoing issue for most of my life and and I am finally to laying it to rest. Getting off my blood pressure and cholesterol meds will be a nice bonus as well. Beating my family history of heart disease and early death is going to be a nice boon too. The people in my family who passed were not obese....and hardly overweight. So I have my work cut out for me!! I am very positive about my situation and am even more confident now that I am changing it.

As for food I am slowly adjusting to eating a larger and larger variety of whole foods. One day at a time is all that it takes!

I am from NYC and am planning on returning to school for nursing...something I should have finished long ago!
