Hi there! I'm mostly counting carbs, in an attempt to help prevent diabetes. I have been pre-diabetic, I have PCOS, and some of my family have diabetes, in addition to my other risk factors (weight and age). I am in the driver's seat on this one, trying to reduce my risk factors so I have more of a fighting chance.

The previous time I used SparkPeople, I took it to an unhealthy degree. This time, I am not going to track SO many things. I am not going to track those things which lead to me making unsafe or unhealthy choices.

I feel a bit shaky about coming back, because of my previous time here, and also my long time away. Wish me luck!

Fitness Minutes: 1,271

My Goals:
My main goal is to keep my blood sugar under control and below pre-diabetic or diabetic levels. I also hope to get in shape at least a little bit. My blood sugar and other stuff is fine.

If I lose weight doing all this, great. But if not, I just need to make sure I'm exercising.


My Program:
I'm trying to up my exercise bit by bit until I hit 150 minutes per week... 30 minutes, 5 times per week. It'll take some working up to!

I'm counting my carbs, and I'll be doing that with my boyfriend, who's diabetic. So I'll be helping him at the same time as helping myself. Score!

Lastly, I'm going to stick to non-sugared drinks unless I'm someplace with no palatable options, or as a rare treat.



Personal Information:
I live in Washington state, USA, and I'm a huge dork. :D I love video games, many types of music-- from gothic to EDM to dubstep to indie and folk, love roleplaying, psychology, sociology, learning new things, etc.


Other Information:
I'm a little shy. I'm trying to get over it, but it's hard. I have some pretty heavy anxiety, etc.
