December 1, 2018 I’m back and it’s apparently been five years since I was here on this forum. I know because below I mention my kids ages. So.......five years later with teary eyes I am trying to reconnect to this site, and to the idea of weight loss. I’m not going to delete my old “about me” so that it can be a part of the journey. I turn 50 this month and had a goal at the first of the year to lose 50 by 50. And yet......you guessed it. I’m heavier than ever. At 242 pounds it’s the heaviest I’ve ever been. I can no longer shop in “normal” stores. I wake and go to sleep worried about my body and my health. There is a lot of diabetes in my family and I know I’m headed straight down that path if I cannot arrest the weight gain, and reverse it. My kids are gone now so no excuses there. After a remodel my husband and I got into the habit of eating out. Often. I work seven days per week and sit and drive a lot. I have control over my schedule, and yet I prioritize my client over my own self care. Every time. I dislike exercise. Everything but grann swimming/moving about in a pool. I’ve joined a swanky gym and manages to get there about four times a week to swim outside. Until the weather changed. There is a nice indoor pool. I tried it once and ran into a colleague, naked in the locker room. I haven’t been back yet A late night red wine-and-snacking habit has emerged. Both need to stop and this would be an immediate change in calorie intake and better sleeping habits. It’s become my way to turn off at the end of a long and stressful day. I’m not sure that I can be successful. I know I’m not supposed to say that sort of negative thing. It’s how I feel. But I want back on the wagon for another shot. While it’s inspirstional to read the stories of great weight losses here-I’d love to meet other women here with similar goals and challenges. Old intro: OK, OK, like many people here...I am back on the wagon of weight loss. I am over 40, fat and not loving it. I enjoy holidays in the sun....and imagine my body as being, well, not as plush as it actually is. A slew of recent photos (never to be developed, but to live eternally on my phone) proved otherwise. Though in my heart of heart I knew the truth....seeing it hurts. So here I am....many months into Weight Watchers. I have watched several ladies lose over 50 pounds, while I have plugged away at a net loss of .1 pounds per week. That comes to a loss of almost 15 pounds as of this post in January. I am happily married, have a daughter (16) and son (18) and work full time as a self-employed real estate broker. Help a girl out!

Make a list of the things you have always wanted to do in life before or after children and post it on the wall so that you can see it all the time. Make a copy for work too...... Look at this as the beginning of a new chapter of your life and ENJOY the fun you have.
