I'm a 40+ Wife and Stepmom who, despite my weight, stays extremely busy with little time for myself unless I MAKE it! I maintain a full-time position of 45+ hours a week, which I do to pay the bills, but it is not really my passion. I want to get healthy so that I have the time and energy to do those things I AM passionate about. When my stepson came to live with us a year and a half ago, I was in the worst shape of my life. A back ailment and surgery opened my eyes to the fact that I was killing myself slowly but surely. And my quality of life was severely diminished because of my weight and health. I am making strides to change that one step, one day at a time, because I want to be there for my family and at 44, I believe I still have time to accomplish great things in life!

My Goals:
If I think about ALL the weight I have to lose at one time, I get discouraged, so I'm concentrating on smaller goals, and am starting with a goal of losing 50 lbs by Christmas 2011. I want to add to my workout schedule (I go to the gym and swim daily for an hour Monday through Friday) with some additional cardio, so that I have more stamina and breath control. I want to quit cheating on my meal plan and stick to it, even on holidays when I "reason" that I can splurge just this once!

My Program:
I'm cutting out eating after 7pm, and no mindless snacking while watching TV! I'm adding a workout video 3 times a week to my swimming. I find when I journal, I hold myself more accountable, and so I'm pledging to journal AT LEAST 3 times a week.

Indianapolis, IN
2 StepChildren (one living with us, one in El Salvador, where my husband and stepson are from)

Other Information:
Passions Include: Clowning, Writing, Reading, Singing, Crafting (of any kind, particularly scrapbooking, cardmaking and sewing)

    Ahhh...just what I needed today! Thank you!
    I told my Mom this morning I needed to clip my toe nails since they were hanging out of my shoes...I egg-zag-erate somewhat...but it was past time...and a lovely foot bath is a great followup. It always feels so good!

    Hope your day is blessed! Mine is....I am at work and I've had a slow, peaceful, restful day...and a chance to get my paperwork cleared up for tomorrow.
