Hi, I'm Julie...

9/22/10 update -

I choose to be Healthy! This is my mantra, I repeat it often. I remind myself that this journey is about far more than a number on the scale.
I will run my first 5K in 2010. I do bootcamp and PT weekly.
I have discovered that I am competitive, that I am strong and that I can do whatever I set my mind to!

Original Spark Introduction:

I am changing my life forever!
I have lost 30 lbs since January 2009. My husband and I made a New Years resolution to start 09...the same resolution many of us have made in the past...."this will be the year that I take control of my weight"...sound familiar?? Well I started off strong. My husband (a former chef) does all the cooking, he changed what we were eating, we started exercising nightly. Well, he started exercising nightly, I was less committed. We bought a Bow Flex, we bought an elliptical machine and free weights. Hubby lost 80 lbs and is seriously looking hot! Me? 30 lbs down but not close to where I want to be. So I begin my Spark journey at 185 lbs.

I am making a commitment to myself, my husband, my children. I will be a healthier person. would be awesome to wear a bikini in my adult life!!!

My Goals:
My goals are:

make healthier food choices with every meal.

continue to be a non smoker

6 days of exercise per week (including ST!!)

continue to work on my mental well being.

Get on the scale WEEKLY!!

My Program:
This is a change in life style, not a diet.

I will drink at least 10 glasses of water EVERY day.

I will eat smart, well balanced meals

I will stay within my calorie guidelines everyday

I will make exercise something I do 6 days per week (at least)

155 - New pants/shirt from Ann Taylor - MET..My LOFT credit card shows that I've been buying more than a pair of pants and a shirt!

145 - Pair of Spark yoga pants!!

    Hey, there- just dropping in to say hello. How's your week been going? Mine has been tiring to say the least but I think I will live- lol! As you can see I changed my hair do again- lol! I just can't help it, I get bored.

    Well, I hope you have some fun Halloween activities planned for the weekend? We are having a Halloween party at my 2nd job tomorrow night, so that is nice when there is some fun built into the work schedule.

    Hey, Julie- thanks for stopping by to check on me. I've been sorting through some things lately and haven't sparked as much over the last few weeks. I'm taking some needed time to get my head on straight, so I can get back in the game and properly take care of me and encourage my spark friends. I'm still doing my login and stuff but haven't been as active in the community. I just needed a break for a bit- I haven't given up just had to regroup a bit. Thanks for the support. Hugs, Cinn

    Right now for's either the treadmill or Stairmaster, or my walk/run thing outside. I know what you mean..I hate getting my hair ruined.

    I used to do alot more cardio with DVDs- like TurboJam or The Firm. But lately I just like to put my ipod on and zone out. I've been doing the Hill program on my treadmill lately and I've been enjoying that. Honestly, I love Strength training, but cardio to me is rather boring, and something I do because I have to.. can't say I love it though....
